Snowpocalyspe 2010!

It blizzarded yesterday. Like, for realz. The whole day the snow and wind and lightning and thunder just came down. I was tucked away at in the 11th street bar - working. And watching it bluster. "There is no way we're getting out today," I thought to myself. We got home around 9 and started to pack and get all those little things in order. We had mini champers and a small celebration.

Our plane was supposed to leave at 9 am - which means getting to JFK at 6am - which means leaving the apartment at 5am. We tried to book a car. No dice. We thought about cabs. We pondered the subway. They weren't even running.

The airline hadn't cancelled the flight but JFK was closed until 5am. But does that mean that you can't get into the airport? So many questions. So little sleep.

At the moment we decided we must take action and take the snowman by the snowballs... Technology texted. Our flight was postponed until noon...then 2...then 9pm...then midnight.

Ah sweet sleep.

So, today we went out and enjoyed our New York Snow Day. Snow in New York City is one of the most majestical and frustrating situations. (Much like the city itself.) But if you keep your chin up and make the most of it, it can be a real treat.

...but we're G-D ready for KOH SAMUI THAILAND!!....
